April 2nd-9th
Good evening all,
This is kind of a tough subject to bring up, but after careful deliberation I think its time.
No fanfare, no big lead in speech. Here it is:
In compliance with State and Federal Laws and our legal Contract with Amtgard Inc., as of the end of this current reign, the Rising Winds will become a static crown Kingdom.
The legal Kingdom Seat of the Rising Winds has been and ever shall be Gryphons Perch. After September's Coronation, only residents and attending members of the Kingdom Seat(GP) will be allowed to hold Kingdom Office, participate in Kingdom level votes, and be active in the Kingdom CoK.
All the necessary corpora changes will be posted in time to be voted on at the June Midreign.
I know this is going to cause a huge influx of questions, comments, outrage and anger, but please be calm and let the officers and BOD members work through this. Hell, some of the current BOD members outside of GP weren't fully aware this was coming. This level of legal compliance comes as a result of how our NFP status was structured and submitted to the IRS. Amtgard Inc only recognizes the Kingdom Seat in any Kingdom, and all legal decisions of the group can only voted and acted upon by members of that 'park'.
Thank you all for your patience and attentiveness in reading this. Its not easy for me to be the message bearer, but I've been here since this Kingdom was 5 guys in bedsheets swinging carpet covered PVC at each other, and the burden of seniority falls upon me to break this Kingdom back down into its basic components once again.
If any parks wish to leave sponsorship of the Kingdom since your members will no longer have voting rights here, I personally will recommend you highly to whatever Kingdom you wish to transfer sponsorship to.
In Sadness,
Sir Brock Argenta
