Lady Squire Renjara "Emay", of Traitor's Gate Celestial Kingdom

Suddenly all of my ancestors are behind me. "Be Still," they say. "You are the result of the love of thousands."
"Crafts make us feel rooted, give us a sense of belonging and connect us with our history. Our ancestors used to create these crafts out of necessity, and now we do them for fun, to make money and to express ourselves."-Phyllis George

Biography

Renjara calls Kaembryge her home as she started there in 2011. It is important here to note that she considers the denizens of Kaembryge who helped her get started to be her family and is loyal to them to a fault.

As there is no Amtgard near her bio family's home in northern Michigan, she went inactive for most of 2012. She visited a few CK events in early 2013 from Pasadena before reappearing in Nov 2013 at Traitor's Gate where she was immediately placed into the role of Shire Clerk with a succession of inactive sheriffs, leaving her more or less in charge of the park for a reign before she actually stepped up as Sheriff and then Baroness over the next year ending in May 2015. She also served for one term as CK BoD Treasurer.

While she originally intended to reappear at Slaughter Creek, things didn't work out that way. She still says she's going to end up in Austin or possibly somewhere further north (within the CK) again eventually but only time will tell. In the mean time, she currently serves as the admin of multiple websites for the Celestial Kingdom.

The greatest honor she has received so far is the offer of a red belt from Gekko, almost exactly 4 years after he helped her to make her very first spell list.

Persona

Renjara was born on a ship in the north Atlantic, the same ship where she spent nearly all of her early years. Her father had been taken in a Viking raid from his home in Hamburg, Germany. His viking crew hailed mostly from the Vik. Renjara grew up learning first aid at sea and saved the sailors lives many times. Her mother, whom hailed from Gothenburg, Sweden, passed away from scurvy and she was made the ship's only attendant at a young age.

A few years later, she and her crew found themselves set upon by pirates. Another merchant ship captained by Khazmylar Hotaru came to their rescue, taking many injuries. In gratitude, she traveled with Captain Hotaru for many years and nearly married him. She grew tired of life on the ship and one day, docked at the Vik, when the call went out that the ship was leaving, she did not return.

She was on land for more than a few hours for the first time in her life. As tired as she was of ship life, it was all she had ever known. She ran into none other than Leif Erickson, or Leif the Lucky. She went with him on a journey first to Greenland, to the home of his father, Eric the Red, and then on a few trips to Markland.

The common trips into Vinland to collect Butternuts and other supplies allowed her to ween herself from the sea and settle down to life on land slowly. During these trips, she also met some native women who were amazed with the glass beads she had sewn onto her clothing. Each trip as she was picking berries and nuts, they would find each other. They managed to teach each other through language and cultural barriers and develop a friendship.

On one ill-fated trip to Vinland with Leif's Brother, Thorvald, the men of her group met with some natives who were not so willing to share. Due to her relationship with the women, she was spared and now lives among the natives, teaching bead work, caring for children, and healing the sick with the skills she had learned on the ship. Though from time to time, she looks to the sea, she is becoming more of a druid and wizard with each passing day. Her magic has helped to save her Skraeling friends from their foes on occasion while the Disirof her Hamingja and her faith in Thor give her roots and the strength to carry on.

  • While she tends to rock flowers and other pretties quite often, her personal symbol is a valknut in Blue, Green, and Yellow. To her, it represents not only the the 9 virtues but also the coming together of all mankind.
