Baron Squire Quiet of Northern Holdfast, Iron Mountains
Biography
'Quiet' first attended Amtgard in the fall of October, 2004. He has been playing nearly exclusively at the Northern Holdfast of the Iron Mountains kingdom since his introduction, and has since become an acknowledged figure of the local park. Typically in his trademark grey garb, he embraced the Monk class of Amtgard quite ravenously since his first battlegame. He has since achieved Mastery in the class. He has also acquired Master Archer, after several years spent flinging arrows at nearly every event he's attended. When complimented for his notable archery skills, his response is usually "That sounds like me."
Quiet's interests are primarily in battlegaming, arts and sciences, and generally flurbing out. If a battlegame is happening, he will fight in it, rain, snow or injury. He has become fairly skilled at crafting both garb and Amtgard weapons, and will always readily loan out either to newbies.
He is a regular sight at every Rakis near the Role-Play Tavern, either running the Tavern or his own quests. He was champion of a kingdom-wide Good/Evil game (though he started neutral in the conflict, evil just became too alluring), and is rumoured to have made the most mentally and visually disturbing Chesire Cat costume imaginable for a midreign celebration. He ran a successful live archery tournament at Rakis 2011, providing all equipment himself. He murdered the Queen of the Desert Winds for her banner, stole a relic at Salt Wars from every other team seeking it, and won the assassin's game at Z Stock with a foam one-eyed trouser snake.
Quiet was Regent of the NH, then the Baron of the Northern Holdfast since August 2008 to June of 2011. The Northern Holdfast's membership suffered recently, though Quiet attempted a great number of solutions to aid membership. He is presently Regent once again, and will happily drag anyone and everyone to Amtgard, through bribery, guilt or shameless seduction.
He has been noted on Amtgard forums, though usually for his vehement defence of archery in the game of Amtgard.
He has been classified as a 'Creature' by specialists, as characterized by his height, wild demeanour, strange voice patterns, and his inability to touch lunar bodies.
Quiet's personal symbol is the Eye of Horus, in silver. The Eye of Ra, or the Eye of Thoth are both interchangeable, however.
