Heraldry
Colors are sand trimmed in black. Symbol is an Eye of Ra within a red disc. Iconography is nominally Egyptian in nature.
History
Founded by Kalidor as a fighting company in the 1990's. In 2002 it became a Fighting Household.
Traditions
There are three levels of membership in the Sons of Ra: Petitioner, Initiate, and Son of Ra (or Sah Ra). Any Sah Ra may take a single Petitioner who will be considered by the other Sah Ra for membership. A Petitioner will wear his sponsor's sash. His status as a petitioner is denoted by a single chevron or pile. This petitioning period typically lasts 6 months.
After 6 months as a Petitioner an individual becomes an Initiate. While considered a full member at this stage, the Initiate does not have the ability to take a petitioner. An Initiate may wear an eye of Ra on a red solar disk. His rank is denoted by two chevrons.
When an Initiate has spent one year active in the house he will be considered a Sah Ra or Son of Ra. The rank of Sah Ra is denoted by three chevrons. In addition, the Sah Ra is granted a belt favor which may be used to petition new members.
