a Duchy in the Principality of Western Gate under the kingdom of the Rising Winds, located in St Louis, Missouri.
Contents
History
Founded by Saint Sir Arilus Styx Nemoralis and Vincent Thorne in 1998. Rumor has it that Styx started playing a boffer game called KBC or Kingdom of the Broken Crown. In researching new weapon technology Styx came across the game of amtgard and Western Gate was founded. Western Gate originally started at Tower Grove Park and the populas quickly outgrew that park and moved to Carondelet in favor of a safer area, more accessible locale and better fields.
In 2009 Western Gate submitted a bid for kingdom status at the gathering of the clans. The circle of monarchs suggested that the group spend a year as a principality to test their ability to work together with it's subgroups. They became a principality by vote of the Rising Winds Circle of Monarchs shortly there after.

Western Gate meets every Sunday at 12:00 pm in Carondelet Park - 3 blocks west of the Loughborough Exit at Interstate 55 in St Louis Missouri. Carondolet Park Loughborough & Grand Avenue St. Louis, MO 63111 We fight all winter long. If it's Sunday we're there.
Wednesday Night Fighter Practices - 6pm at Carondolet Park, St.Louis, MO A good number of our fighters travel to Cordis Medagar every Saturday.

Households & Companies
Western Gate has been the birthplace of many different households and fighting companies.
- Sol Invictus: Consistently in the top 2 of RW Kingdom competition. They are the oldest company in WG.
- Black Heaven: This is a newer fighting company at Western Gate but is quickly growing and always improving their ranks.
- Peregrine Guard, Brothers Grim and O.P.S., are fighting companies that were also started here at Western Gate. PTK was also a fighting company started at Western Gate and is on its way back after a short disolvement.
- Western Gate also has members in many different fighting companies and households including Justicars, House Maiar, Grendel, Household Fianna Driag, Wendy and the Lost Boys, Critter and the Hot Chicks, Dagger of the Silvermoon, Western Gate Bardic Troupe & Saracens.
