Lore and Events of Satyr's Hollow

The Founding of Satyr’s Hollow (Autumn’s First Breath, 2022)

In the year of the waning moon, beneath the golden boughs of the forest, Satyr’s Hollow was born. Two visionaries, Rook Whitehallow and Panifex, stood upon the ancient bones of a long-slain dragon, their hearts alight with purpose. With unwavering resolve, they shaped a community where the brave could find purpose and the lost could call home.

The Battle of the Bones (Summer’s Heat, 2023)

With the rising of the summer sun, a dark tide stirred beneath the soil of Satyr’s Hollow. The dragon’s bones, long buried and forgotten, thrummed with foul magic, awakening an army of the dead. Shadows fell long upon the land as skeletal legions rose to lay waste to the holding.

But the people of Satyr’s Hollow were not alone in their plight. The entire kingdom of Blackspire heeded the call, their banners flying high as they joined forces to push back the unholy horde. The battle was fierce, the cries of the living clashing with the silence of the undead, but in the end, the kingdom stood victorious.

The Solstice of Shadows (Winter's Start, 2023)

As the summer solstice neared, the veil between realms thinned, and a new terror seeped into the land—the Shadowfell. Dark magic coiled through the forests, threatening to consume all in its path. Once again, the kingdom of Blackspire united against this otherworldly force, yet it was the warriors of Satyr’s Hollow who turned the tide.

Their valor shone brightest in the darkest hour, and the kingdom bestowed upon them the fabled Lightning Javelin, a weapon of immense power and legend. With this gift came a greater honor: Satyr’s Hollow was named a Barony, its people recognized as defenders of the realm.

The Second Siege of the Skeleton Army, Battle of the Bones II (Summer’s Zenith, 2024)

The following summer brought with it an even graver challenge. The skeleton army returned, more powerful and determined than before, their bones suffused with a dark energy that resisted even the strongest blades. The battle raged for days, blood staining the earth as the people of Satyr’s Hollow stood firm against the tide.

Reinforcements came from every corner of Blackspire, their numbers unmatched in the kingdom’s history. Though the cost was great, the holding emerged victorious, battered but unbroken. From this sacrifice and strength, the Order of the Silver Dawn was forged—standing as stewards for denizens new and old, fighting against the encroaching darkness.

The Harvest of Unity, Food Fight (Autumn’s Glow, 2024)

As the leaves turned gold and the air grew crisp, the Silver Dawn hosted a grand tournament, partnering with the fey who dwelled in the forests beyond Satyr’s Hollow. Knights and warriors competed in feats of strength and cunning, while the fey brought their magic to enrich the festival. The wealth of gold, food, and goodwill gathered that day was shared with those in need, a testament to the generosity of the holding.

At the feast that followed, Rook Whitehallow and Panifex were honored as Grovekeepers, guardians of the land and its people. Their dedication and wisdom became the foundation upon which Satyr’s Hollow continued to grow.

The Goblin King’s War (Autumn’s End, 2024)

Even as the harvest celebrations faded, danger lingered in the forests. The Goblin King, a cruel and cunning tyrant, launched raids upon the fey’s lands, seeking to claim their magic and destroy their home. The people of Satyr’s Hollow rose to defend their allies, embarking on a perilous quest to drive back the goblin forces.

Though they fought with valor, it was through the intervention of heroes from distant holdings that peace was brokered. The Goblin King was persuaded to retreat, his greed tempered—for now.

The Rise of the Duchy, Midreign (Winter’s Embrace, 2024)

As the nights grew long, the kingdom of Blackspire gathered once more to recognize Satyr’s Hollow. From humble beginnings, the holding had grown into a bastion of hope, its people known across the land for their courage and unity.

On that winter’s day, Satyr’s Hollow was officially named a Duchy, and leaders Baelonos Shael, Rook Whitehallow, Panifex, and Brodar all received the title of Lord for their exemplary service to the holding and kingdom as a whole.
