History
Founded by Saint Sir Arilus Styx Nemoralis and Vincent Thorne in 1998. Rumor has it that Styx started playing a boffer game called KBC or Knights of the Broken Crown. In researching new weapon technology Styx came across the game of amtgard and Western Gate was founded.
Western Gate originally started at Tower Grove Park and the populas quickly outgrew that park and moved to Carondelet in favor of a safer area, more accessible locale and better fields.
Recent History
We are currently preparing our petition to become a Kingdom of Amtgard, and our vote is currently set for the Gathering of the Clans event in 2009.

Western Gate meets every Sunday at 12:30 pm in Carondelet Park - 3 blocks west of the Loughborough Exit at Interstate 55 in St Louis Missouri. Carondolet Park Loughborough & Grand Avenue St. Louis, MO 63111
Wednesday Night Fighter Practices - 6pm at Carondolet Park, St.Louis, MO
A good number of our fighters travel to Cordis Medagar every Saturday.
We fight all winter long.

Households & Companies
Western Gate has been the birthplace of many different households and fighting companies.
Sol Invictus: While this fighting company has seen better days, Sol Invictus still remains active at Western Gate and in the Rising Winds. Black Heaven: This is a newer fighting company at Western Gate but is quickly growing and always improving their ranks. Peregrine Guard and Open Palms, are both fighting companies that were also started here at Western Gate. PTK and The Brothers Grimm, are also fighting companies started at Western Gate but have since been dissolved.
Western Gate also has members in many different fighting companies and households not started at our park including Justicars, Grendel, Household Fianna Driag, Wendy and the Lost Boys, Critter and the Hot Chicks, Dagger of the Silvermoon, & Saracens.
