If I hit you, and we both know I hit you, but you decide for whatever reason not to take it. Reasons could be anything. The reason is immaterial. What is served by me hitting you harder? Or bitching about it? Or anything?
Nothing will be solved by any of this. However if the next time we fight I hit you in such a manner that you have no choice but to take it, the problem is solved. What you have to keep in mind is that in the second scenario you have not changed at all. Everything that changes happened with me. In order for me to improve to the point where you cannot cheat me, it has to be my fault you were able to cheat me in the first place.
This same attitude works the same for improving your fighting overall. If you beat me it is not because you were better then me. It is because I did something that let you beat me. It has to be my fault in order for me to get better. If you beat me because of something you did then I cannot improve.

Biography
First started swinging foam in his backyard, alongside Calin, Elm, and Ursus, using the Amtgard rules without sanction or realization of its breadth. After that organization imploded in the summer of 2006, Ausric began playing Amtgard properly in Twilight Peak, following after Elm and Ursus, who had started playing months earlier.
Since joining Amtgard he has joined the Ebon Order as their tenth member (at Frostbite 2008, Promoted January 24, 2009). In October of 2010 he left the company to pursue his goals his own way.
He also founded the Shire of Felfrost in Ottawa, Ontario, in October of 2007.
While still maintaining ties to Twilight Peak, he plays regularly in Felfrost, now living in Ottawa for an extended period.
Accepted a Man-At-Arms belt from Sir Goliath at Goldenvale's Coronation in March '09. Upgraded to Squire one year later, at GV Coronation in March '10.
It is said that there was once a time where Ausric did not have any crafting projects on the go. This is estimated to have been around the time of the Big-Bang, where simply nothing existed for him to work with.
On July 20th 2009, Ausric married Squire Lady Diana, who then went on their honeymoon to Clan.
