General Information
Battle Beyond the Border, or BBB, is an annual semi-local/international camping event hosted by Northern Fields and World's End, with the site alternating on either side of the Canada/USA border in the summer each year.
When hosted on the Canadian side it's at Emerson Centennial Park Campground (or Steinbach LARPers Society - 2023), and when hosted on the American side it's at Lake Bronson State Park.
History
Initialized by Corwyn Lindenson in 2017 and it grew from there. The original Canadian site was previously used in 2013 for the Tri-Park Dragonmaster/Weaponmaster which included populace from Niflheim as well as visitors from Polaris.
2023
The spicy-hot year.
Per Fayden Bones: "Although food was wonderfully prepared on various propane grills, we also had the option of using any outdoor surface space as a makeshift grill."
2022
The year of the storm. There were heavy winds and a possible tornado the first night, so fighting was brought indoors.
Tournament Results
- Open: Broton, runners-up Thistle Wulfsbane and Aera Leyric
- 4v4: Einherjar team (Broton, Kite, McNikle, Bremen)
2019
Roleplay Story
After crossing the lake and approaching the tower, a kobold comes out with a large piece of paper. "This tower is under the ownership of Pivnist the dragon, however his horde has outgrown this meager shelter, so in exchange for entertainment and concession he will vacate." In reality the dragon is playing them, using demands, illusion, and trickery to con the teams into killing and robbing each other, then picking off the survivors with his kobolds.
Having expended their porters and peasants to each other thinking the opposing teams were attacking kobolds and exhaustion from tourneys and in-fighting, Broton negotiated all of the dragon's requests for the kingdom of Polaris, whom will lease the tower to Fuzz, who gifts it to Eevee. The dragon invites Eevee in, only to attempt to swallow him whole, but in a fierce battle, Eevee slayed the fiend and claims his new post. The kobolds scatter, and upon inspection, the majority of the dragon's horde has escaped... ...for now.
