History
Foundation
Mistyvale was founded in 2013 by Xen'drik and Therrin Greycloud. It was created to reunite friends but grew to become quite a bit more in the following years. The park joined the Kingdom of Westmarch in 2015, establishing itself as part of the broader Amtgard community. Mistyvale later achieved Duchy status, reflecting its growth and contributions.
Challenges
Following the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mistyvale stepped down to Barony status in 2023. By 2024, dwindling attendance led the remaining members to decide to relocate the park to Rocklin, California, renaming the land Stonehearth. This marked the beginning of a new chapter while preserving Mistyvale’s legacy.
New Identity
- Etah Reis selected the physical location of the new park and served as the first Baron.
- Athena Mononymous selected the colors (gray, orange, and yellow) and served as the first Regent.
- Toodlz Stormcaller selected the name and served as the first champion.
- Eldrin Dawnrider designed the heraldry and served as the first Prime Minister.
This name, Stonehearth, was chosen to honor Rocklin’s past as a quarry town and to symbolize the warmth of friendship and camaraderie shared around a glowing fireplace.
