Biography

    Dirk began his adventure into the world of swashbuckling at the age of 15, taking classes at the Atlantic Fencing Club in Colts Neck, NJ as well as attending many medieval swordsmanship and theatrical fighting workshops. He was introduced to Amtgard in 2008 and has never looked back. He and his dear friend Raten Firewalker created the Shire of Terrier's Run in 2014.

     Dirk Ravenholm was born Dirk Valeur Ravenholm in Gascony, France to an English Father and a French Mother. He is the prodigal son of the noble house of Ravenholm, and from an early age, expressed great interest in joining the ranks of the noble Musketeers. Thus at the age of 8, his uncle, a respected musketeer in his own right, began training the boy in the arts of rapier, archery and witty riposte (both physically and verbally). At the age of 18, while guarding a spice ship bound for the Orient, the ship capsized, claiming everyone except Dirk and his childhood friend, Arthur Devreux. They were nursed back to health by a peaceful order of monks, who, after much coercion taught them the ways of their order. Upon returning to France two years later, Dirk pledged his life to adventure and helping those in need.
     His peers describe him as brave, noble, ambitious, and crafty. Like any Romantic hero, he is driven by love and ruled by chivalry.
