Enormous underwater predators, these multi-tentacled beasts are rarely seen on the surface. When they arise, however, they are quick to devour entire ships and crew without warning, dragging them to a watery grave. On occasion, some powerful wizard, angry demigod or other preternaturally potent magical being will summon one of these monstrosities to wreck devastations upon whatever particular city, nation, vessel or hero has provoked their wrath. Woe unto the unfortunate souls who happen to find themselves in the path of the Kraken!
