This is very inappropriate and mocks the Christian faith. No one is avatars of Christ Jesus.
- This page while it may be inappropriate to some is not here to mock anyones faith. Many of the people who are considered "Avatars" of Jesus Christ are Christians themselves. They are not saying that they "are" Jesus; just that they resemble him. If you find this offensive then simply ignore/don't view this page. --Kelvelos 10:13PM (CEN) 30 April, 2008.

- You apparently don't know the definition of 'avatar' do you kelvelos. I perused your profile and was sad that on your own personal heraldry you would have the upside down cross. That right there tells me you are out to mock the christian faith that you so rightifully put you are not. If you are not you wouldn't even bother. If you really want to get technical. Jesus Christ was THE Only avatar of God.

- If need be, the use of the word Avatar could be changed to Look-alike, but honestly, since the entire point of the Amtwiki is to preserve our history and culture in an organic way, and since it's several voices saying "Leave it alone" and only a single, unnamed individual, wanting to change it, this page should be left alone to preserve the spirit it was written in. We don't need to cater to this kind of crap at all. He knew exactly what was meant by the usage of the word "Avatar" and is using this as an oppertunity to spread his religious fantasy to everyone else.
- This is a blatent display of someone trying to force their beliefs on a non-church entity. You don't see me bitching about how the article "Implies that Jesus really existed, which is a complete affront to my faith in the flying spagetti monster" because I have both a sense of humor and a grounding in reality.
- Please deal with the fact that not everybody is christian, and stop pushing it on people. -Tanath
leave out 'avatar'. And please refrain from posting your own interpretation of the history and life of christ, in your own "humorous" manner.

Tanath - I don't agree with it, but this is easier than having to re-edit the page every so often because so 2-bit schmuck with a cross thinks we're slandering his christ. Besides, it isn't like the christians EVER mock non-christian ideology. Ah well, when the favored adherents of FSG ascend and behold the stripper factory, all will be right with the universe. First off, attacking me about symbols used in my heradlry proves nothing about my beliefs. I am a person of tolerance; my character on the other hand is not. The "cross" you complain about me using is actually based off of historical reference The Order of the Dragon a group that were defenders of the Christian faith. The group was perverted by wealth & hid (like the Crusaders) behind the symbol of "Christ".
Second off, this is a group of individuals who remain free to think for themselves. As I stated before people from many religions come out to play Amtgard. Yet, you don't see everyone bitching about symbols used for heraldry & names used for personas.

It's offensive and probably a copy write violation.

- As others have said. The Page specifically states that it is not about the Christian Christ. If you don't like it, don't read it. It contains no foul language, no references to adult situations, unlike some other pages on the wiki. - ._. I salute Tanath and Linden on this one. Forcing beliefs on someone is wrong, and this page has nothing foul to it. So why is there an argument over it? If you want, you can talk about my gods if it will help you feel better. Religion is a choice, and if someone doesn't believe in yours....don't condemn them for it. =]

- This page really has no bearing on amtgard, amtgard culture, or such: look-like status is extremely subjective and the wetland player mentioned is someone I never heard of in the 5 years was in amtgard. I recommend deletion of the page due to it's pointlessness and irrelevance. Arathamus D'Bois
- Arathamus, I will bring this page up before the other Admins and see if they wish for anything to be done about this page. I agree that this page brings little to the game, but there are those who would believe this to be an area of Amtgard Culture. As for the player from the Wetlands, I believe he is actually in Blackspire. Regardless, despite your time in Amtgard, I would put seriouse doubt that you have heard of all the players throughout all the Kingdoms. If you need anything further, please let us know.
