About SKBC
is an event held for strictly the fighting aspects of Amtgard. No attlegames, quests, roleplaying, court, or gaming classes. Teaching classes are held to teach certain styles by different sword knights, usually warlords.
It is an event that began in 2003 as a brainchild of Sir Guy Kasama in discussion with may of his friends including Sir Cedric Pentacles and Sir Lief. The organizing committee affectionately known as FWACK.
Unlike many other events, the location for SKBC is not static, but instead changes where it is hosted every year. In 2003 it was hosted in the Iron Mountains, 2004 in the Emerald Hills, 2005 in Atlanta, GA in between Neverwinter, Winter's Edge, Goldenvale and Rising Winds, 2006 in Blackspire and 2007 In Cedar Rapids, IA Rosetta Pact. The organizing committee takes bids and chooses a site based on how good the bids are and how needed the instruction is in an area.
