Northern Lights Heraldry

The Kingdom of the Northern Lights is the 17th Kingdom of Amtgard.


The grouping of Amtgard parks, formed together originally to create a Principality under the sponsorship of the Kingdom of BlackSpire. Our groups are located in western Washington state, spanning from near the Oregon border to North of Seattle. This principality obtained Kingdom status at the 2012 Gathering of the Clans by unanimous vote.

The Northern Lights is comprised of six lands in western Washington: (listed from farthest North to South) Gypsy Hollow, Inland Ocean, Shrouding Mist, Greenwood Keep, Dragons of Fire Valley, & Mithril Hills For a list of places within Northern Lights, see Northern Lights Chapters or consult the Amtgard Atlas.

The Northern Lights was founded in 2003 , originally as the Nortwest Alliance, upon the ideal of combining the efforts of several strong core lands in the Northwest, so that Kingdom status could become more realistic. Upon achieving Kingdom status, The Northern Lights included (in chronological order of joining):

Inland Ocean, Shrouding Mist, Greenwood Keep, Gypsy Hollow, Dragons of Fire Valley & Mithril Hills.

We happily anticipate growing as a Kingdom, expanding both fighting skills and cultural venues, and welcoming new Amtgardians to our large and happy family.
