Heraldry
A work in progress. Clearly, a land named 'Five Banners' had best sport some impressive heraldry-- we're making slow but steady progress along these lines. The 'Five Banners' in our land's name refer to the five civilized tribes in Oklahoma, each of which maintains its own seal and crest, and these five seals form the basis of the designs that we're working from.
History
Active as of November 2007. The Freehold of Five Banners hosted its first major event (the BUNGLE IN THE JUNGLE) in Stroud, OK, during the May 30, 2008 to June 1, 2008 weekend. The heat was opporessive, and some lessons were learned, but overall we'd have to rate this event a SUCCESS! Five Banners meets every Sunday at 1PM at Hunter Park in Tulsa, which is located 1 block west of the intersection at 91st & Sheridan-- from that intersection, look for the fire station on the left, because when you see it you'll know that the park entrance is coming up quickly in about 300 feet. After turning into the park, drive all the way to the back and park in the the last parking lot-- we'll be somewhere between the pond and the children's playground, or maybe in the woods, or even possibly in the labyrinth. We keep the calendar at our Yahoo! group reasonably up-to-date, so please check there for specific event information.
