Heraldry
History
The first Santa Barbara chapter was the Shire of Feanga, which was founded by Celedraug in September 2001, after being introduced to Amtgard via the Seven Sleeping Dragons. Feanga originally met at the Santa Barbara Mission greens before moving to Oak Park.
By summer 2002, political issues had split the group into two: Feanga, still at Oak Park in Santa Barbara, and the Shire of the Silver Sun, at an unnamed park in Goleta, just north of Santa Barbara. Silver Sun went on to become the seat of the Crystalline Confederacy for some time, while Feanga willfully remained a freehold.
In October 2004 the two groups settled their differences and merged together under a new name, the Shire of the Eternal Coast. Tauron Xian was the first Sheriff of that shire, but as he says, its founding was really a collective effort by all involved in both Feanga and Silver Sun.
Over the years, Eternal Coast considered joining under several larger groups, including taking Silver Sun's place in the Crystalline Confederacy, joining under Ardent Sands of Arizona, or joining under Wavehaven along with the Seven Sleeping Dragons, but none of those came to fruition. When the Principality of Westmarch began to form, the dwindling membership of Eternal Coast became excited at the prospect of joining a united Californian Amtgard, but local activity shrank to nearly nothing before anything could become of that idea.
This group was active until at least the end of 2006, with activity dwindling throughout 2007. As of April 27, 2008, activity is reported to be three people in the park.

Eternal Coast currently meets about every other week on Sunday afternoon at approximately 1:00 PM in Oak Park.
To reach Oak Park from north of Santa Barbara, follow the 101 south to the Las Positas exit, then turn left on Las Positas. Turn right onto Tallant Road, and keep going till it seemingly dead-ends on Clinton Terrace. Turn left on Clinton, and almost immediately turn right again back onto Tallant. Tallant will soon appear to dead-end again, but it actually continues to the right. Turn right there, and then turn right on Alamar. Oak Park will be on your right; just look for swinging foam.
To reach Oak Park from south of Santa Barbara, follow the 101 north to the Pueblo exit, turn right on West Junipero Street, and then left on Alamar. Oak Park will be on your left; just look for swinging foam.
