Type of battlegame in which the rules are subject to frequent changes.

It can be played using full class or Ditch rules to start, whichever is preferred.

Rules

You have two teams. When people are killed, they do not come back to life normally, but wait until everyone on one team or the other is killed.

The team that won was clearly cheating somehow, so the team that lost gets to make some new rule that applies from this point forwards. Then both teams start over at their bases.

  • The new rule may not mention any player(s) specifically by name (e.g., you cannot say "Dave has five levels of invulnerability"). It has to be worded in a way

that could apply to everyone.

  • However in practice you can arrange rules to be advantageous to one side. e.g., "All throwing weapons destroy shields", when your team has all the throwing weapons and their team has all the shields.
  • Teams should come up with their rules in a reasonably quick time. If they cannot, they forfeit their ability to make a rule.

The game continues until one team decides that the game has become too silly and yields.

History

This game was created in Silverwater on a day with low turnout, and quickly became one of the more popular types of games run.

Sample Rules

  • Everyone fights after death (the very first calvinball rule)
  • Everyone must fight left-handed (when one team had all the lefthanders).
  • Archers may only carry one arrow (Tonbo was just murdering people with a bow that day).
  • Everyone must "prance" (reported from a game run in the Iron Mountains).
  • Everyone's back has 5 points of invulnerable armor
  • Teams can "save" rules and decide what rules they want to add later
  • All "saved" rules are gone (done after the other team saved up 5 rules to be set later
  • The losing team may pick one player from the winning team to join them each exchange
