Brendonford
Brendonford is a fictitious place created by The Bitter Coast Quest Guild for use in the ongoing Bitter Coast Quest Campaign, which has been told over several reigns.
The Barony of Brendonford was the site of a great festival to celebrate the end of the war between the Drow Empire and the Elven Alliance. The Baron of Brendonford organized the festival, and invited delegations from all the lands that were allies of the Elves during the war. The Festival was attacked by Skirits, who were allied with a Wizard cult, called "The Blessed". Who captured the town's Paladin protector Alein, and turned him into a horrible mockery of death, called a "Corpse Thing". When the heroes destroyed the Wizard Cult, an Ogre Mage, and a cadre of Assassins attacked them, shortly thereafter the Baron of Brendonford instituted martial law, and allied himself with a demonic host. All of these events were orchestrated by a Calimarian named Gherlyth Axem, who escaped after the Baron was killed, and the demonic portal made unstable. Gherlyth Axem later returned, under the guise of "Greyleaf" the Wizard. He briefly aided the heroes in order to penetrate the barriers the Demon had placed on the defiled Temple of the Phoenix, where it sought to stabilize the demonic portal, and summon more of it's kind. Gherlyth Axem charmed the dominated the demon, and forced it to attack the heroes. The heroes were able to slay both the demon, and the Calimarian. Brendonford has since rebuilt itself, and is peaceful once more.
