Rising Moon (Chapter)
A Barony in Blackspire, located in McMinnville Oregon. See also Silver Moon
History
In the slopes and redwood forest of Wortman. The Rising Moon arose. Once a small collection, survivors from the great plague that laid low The Valley of the Silver Rains.
The Founding
Thereupon Silas, with assistance from Sir Charlain Kepford (the Tiger’s Paw) and Sir James Mcguffy. Begun to gather with a blend of youth to train for wars to come.
The Barbarians of Paradox viewed the fledgling fief and joined them. A United foe against Valak, a werewolf in their hills.
Across the hill and great rushing river, a gathering of folks who called themselves the Ravens had begun to show. Fleeing from some unknown.
Thus, the holding of Rising Moon grew. But Valak was a vengeant beast, chasing the soldiery from the wilds of Wortman to lower city park.
The Invasion of Lower City, and The Maiming of Jupiter
To curb the upstarts, a contingent force of a falling moon invaded from the distant lands of Salem.
Beat back to get the clansman Jacoby (Dumbluck) from the bowls of Sir Bradford Nymarter (Jupiter for the size of him). The warriors of Rising Moon waited in the forest, sword and blade in hand to curb their enemy’s far superior number.
Once discovered, a small battle rattled the trees. Where Sir Jupiter was fallen upon, heavily wounded beyond repair by the Chieftain of Paradox, Rocky on account of his blows that fell as stones. (Though there are some that say he fell off a root, others claim he headbutt Sir Jupiter so hard that his eye popped from its socket). Rocky too, in his fury and might crashed upon Torg. Where even the complete dusting of his teeth, tested his title of Indomitable that day.
Paradox soon found themselves outcast from the kingdom at large, to the dismay of Rising Moon. And hunted to extinction by their enemies. The few survivors joining The house of the Ravens.
Years of Prosperity came and went like the wheats of harvest. Rising Moon had grown, with the inclusion of a mad wizard by the name of Al’azif, whom had deep roots to the Kingdom of Blackspire. (Where it is said the Skeletons rise from the dark to lay low any passerby’s)
The Black Spade Betrayal
Soon, a score of Rising Moon had become under the employ of the Black Company. A gang of pirates and thieves that remains. A dark betrayal happened on the field. The agents of that company, for coin or personal vendetta, turned on their allies. Slaughtering men who fought alongside them on both sides of the conflict for their own betterment.
The survivors, Waldwin, Keragan, Tauriel, Silas, and Dante Tyralon (the Broodbane), began their own Company. Ares, named for the god of war to enact their vengeance.
The Silver Banner Stolen
In time, Rising Moon had successfully taken the banner of Silver Moon, in a glorious occasion filled with the woes of the conquered.
The Flying of The Ravens
But soon time grew lean. The few Ravens lost their numbers as the youths moved far afield to start family and farms their own. Life had begun to take the large amount of youths on their journeys across life.
I myself, Dante Tyralon, Son of Golflact and Tauriel, Scion of Silas. Became enthralled to the Queen of Dairy in those years to pay for my way of life. But many began to fade.
The memories of it left to pass like a summer’s dream.
