The Kingdom of the Golden Plains was founded as a Shire of the Emerald Hills in Amarillo, Texas, in 1988, attaining status as a Barony nearly six months to the day later (in 1989). Boldwen Reinholt, who helped found the Shire after moving up from Dallas, served as the Golden Plains' first (and only) Sheriff and also served as its first Baron when the Plains achieved Barony status after only six months of existence. The Golden Plains meets Sunday Afternoon, 3:00 P.M. at Memorial park, Washington St, behind Amarillo College.
Directions from I-27: Take Washington Street exit. Go North on Washington Street. There will be signs indicating Amarillo College on the east (right) side of the street. The park is on the south side of the college.
Directions from I-40: Take Washington Street exit. Go South on Washington Street. There will be signs indicating Amarillo College on the east (left) side of the street. The park is on the south side of the college.
