Chainmail
This style includes flexible armor consisting of a weave of interlocked metal rings.
- Is a Tier 3 armor style.
- Must meet the Universal Equipment Requirements.
- Any weave is permitted but it must not allow a 1/2” dowel to pass through.
- Rings must have Aspect Ratio (AR) of 8 or less.
- Metal must be at least equivalent to Aluminum in density and durability. (2.7g/cm3)
- The standard Material Thickness for chain rings is:
- Aluminum Round: 16awg (0.051") (1.290mm)
- Aluminum Flats: 16ga (0.051") (1.291mm)
- Steel Round: 18awg (0.040") (1.024mm)
- Steel Flat: 18ga (0.048") (1.214mm)
