Sharks and Minnows

This game is great for a warm-up or filling the gaps in a long afternoon of gaming. No extra rules are required and all you really need are players and a large enough area to play in.

Teams: 2, One "Shark" versus all the other "Minnows"

Lives: Unlimited

Respawn: Once all Minnows are dead or have crossed the field.

Objective: When the game begins, the Minnows must try and fight, run or maneuver past the Shark and make it to the safety of the other side of the field.

The Shark, in turn, tries to defeat as many Minnows as possible before they can cross.

Any Minnows slain by the Shark become Sharks for the next round. All wounds to all players are regenerated after each crossing, or retained between rounds, as chosen beforehand. Play continues until all the Minnows are Sharks. The last surviving Minnow becomes the starting Shark for the next round.

Scenario Rules: A field of play is designated, roughly 50 yards long by 20 yards wide. One player is chosen as the “Shark” and stands in the center of the field. All other players line up on one end of the field, as “Minnows”. Weapon restrictions, if any, are decided upon before play begins. This game works best without polearms or shields.

Refresh: None

Types Best Supported: Ditch

Notes: One of the best fighters available should be the initial Shark. Though they might overwhelmed to begin with, eventually they will get a clean kill and the teams will begin to even out and eventually become lop-sided. This is intentional, as the game is basically a "Survival Mode" game.
