Scenario Battlegame
This game mode sits on the cusp of using the full Amtgard ruleset. This game mode represents activities that are often team-based and PVP in nature but want to have some roleplay elements without including a full storyline or social options. They use all the gameplay mechanics and may also allow the roleplay rules depending on how they might impact the activity.
Scenario battles often include NPCs, players who are not assigned to a team but are representing some sort of monster or character that both teams can interact with.
An example of a scenario battle is a normal 6 v 6 battle that also has some players playing an NPC troll that can be bribed or convinced to attack the other team, and a unicorn that can be socialized with to earn enchantments and other boons.
Roleplay? Scenario battles typically encourage roleplay but it is primarily combat-centered with little or no way to achieve victory without fighting. The NPC players are often the most immersive and other players tend to only roleplay when dealing with those NPCs, not each other.
