Shyden joined in October of 1996, with the other two members of a lifelong group of friends known, at least to themselves, as the wrecking crew (the other two being [[Abaddon]] and [[Tseng]].  Though his initial weapon was a great sword over seven feet in length, he soon branched out and began to learn to fight with a variety of styles.  Since day one Shyden has been driven towards being a better fighter.  To this end he quickly began to rank in tournaments both in and out of Mithril Hills.

In 2001 Shyden obtained both his 9th order of the warrior and masterhood in the warrior class.  This was also the year that he joined the army. Though he stopped into play when he was on leave, he spent the next five years serving the country as an Airborne Ranger. When he finished his service in the military and moved back home he quickly began to pick up where he left off and better himself as fighter.  He continues to rank in kingdom level tournaments, step in where needed in the local monarchy, and teach anyone whom wants to learn what he knows about fighting.
