The Beer Prayer
Our lager, Which art in barrels, Hallowed be thy drink. Thy will be drunk, (I will be drunk), At home as it is in the pub. Give us this day our foamy head, And forgive us our spillages, As we forgive those who spill against us. And lead us not to incarceration, But deliver us from hangovers. For thine is the beer, The bitter, The lager.Forever and ever, Barmen.
In the Begining...
House Beer was founded in 1998…um, 1997? Mighta been 1996…I'm not really sure (You see, I was pretty drunk at the time…) by Vigus N'Thrack Darkjester, Blackthorn Caelich and Hayden Jadrael (your humble narrator and webmaster). Ours is a household devoted to three pretty simple principles…the camaraderie that only comes from hanging out with good friends and an ample supply of good brown ale, the desire to, at all places and all times Amtgard, have a good time no matter what, and the love of the single greatest beverage ever created on the gods' green earth (and I ain't talking about H2O, kiddies…). And, while many of us tend to be 'beer snobs', we've all been known to swill the occasional twelve pack of cheap beer if the price is right (see: FREE). Any port in a storm, eh?
Our house started out small, but has grown as like minded lushes, um, individuals have discovered the merit of our holy cause. Spanning the width and breadth of the Celestial Kingdom, our household now boasts members in the Wetlands, Iron Mountains and Emerald Hills…and we are looking for more. Nothing like a good beer buzz to fuel the urge to propagate, hey?
