Acceptable / Unacceptable Contact

Amtgard combat is medium-contact activity. This means that players will often make physical contact with each other using approved equipment but not all types of contact are allowed. While some amount of incidental illegal contact should be expected, repeated or egregious offenses can result in suspension from play.

The following list details the most common forms of acceptable and unacceptable contact: V9: Allowed Contact V9: Disallowed Contact

What To Do When Unacceptable Contact Occurs

As a general rule, when unacceptable contact is made, players should avoid deriving a combat advantage from it. If a player contacted this way needs a moment to recover, stop fighting them. If necessary, back up to the point of unacceptable contact and resume the fight if/when they are able.
