Land's End and Friends at the Land's End Civil War Kickoff

History

Lands End was formed by Kite in 2004 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Kite had learned the game playing at Starmount and Mists of Dawn in St. Paul, MN.

Attendence was typically small in Grand Forks, less than 10. The park was very low-key, entirely run off loaner garb and gear. In late 2005, Kite moved from the area and the group withered. Things picked up shortly after in nearby towns of Fertile, Mentor, and Crookston, but small attendence and people relocating caused those groups to dissipate.

Our flurby back story is that we are a fort, established to protect against the undead lands to the north (which conveniently, and unknowingly there's a park there called Niflheim). We've since grown into a city-state, and villages have begun popping up nearby to the south and east. A civil war is currently underway to conquor and tax those villages for our protection.

In 2007 Kite moved back to Grand Forks, and revived amtgard interest in the area. By 2009 attendence had swelled to over 20 a week. We've been fighting on Saturdays starting at noon alternating between Grand Forks and Crookston. We are now the 'New Land's End.'

We were the first chapter in North Dakota. "We're taking over this place, see" TM.

Populace of Land's End cool enough for entries

Friends of the End

There are those that have done much for our park, in addition to being awesome to hang out with. It's sort of a Land's End fanclub, but the feeling is mutual.
