Runa Armstrong
Dame Runa Armstrong the Radient, Master Garber & Master Smith, of Celt's Crossing in the Kingdom of Winter's Edge (they/them)
Biography
Runa began their medieval fantasy foam-fighting journey in 2014 in Albion, a Dagorhir group in Columbia, SC. They discovered Amtgard in 2016 when they visited Eastwind Castle and joined Winter's Edge. They served as Eastwind Castle's chancellor for two terms and served as feastcrat and gatecrat for principality events. In 2017, Runa was awarded the title of Lady for their successful chancellor terms.
In 2018 Runa taught two sewing classes at the Winter's Edge Symposium, in 2019 they taught the first Basic Tunic Track, and in 2020 they continued the Basic Tunic Track with Sir Pumpkin Jack. In 2018, they founded a new shire in their hometown called the Sand Hills, which was renamed Celt's Crossing in 2019. They continued to serve as chancellor for Celt's Crossing in 2023. They served as Classcrat for the Winter's Edge Symposium in 2022 and Autocrat for Winter's Edge Summer Midreign in 2023.
Runa has taught classes on various garbing topics (see Notable Lectures section below) and takes every opportunity to teach others their craft. They enjoy creating tutorials (see Instructional Files section below). They have also judged numerous Arts & Sciences competitions, including Winter's Edge Dragonmasters in 2022 and 2023. In February 2023, Runa was awarded the title of Master Garber.
In February 2024 Runa was welcomed into the Order of the Serpent by Winter's Edge. They have taken the title Dame Runa the Radient. In March 2025, Runa was awarded the title of Master Smith for their extensive teaching efforts. Runa also served as Winter's Edge Kingdom regent from October 2024 - April 2025.
