Couch healer

"Couch healer" refers to a healer who sits down and hands out enchantments, heals, and occasionally summons a fallen comrade to be resurrected. They will often take a death when an enemy approaches them and/or, if they are of sufficient level, may use Circle of Protection or Hallowed Ground to prevent enemies from effectively harming them.

Other casting classes have "couch" variants as well, but are less common; Wizards, having access to Circle of Protection and a wide variety of Enchantments, have a relatively easy time of it, but Druids may have to be more creative, using Thornwall, Commune, Plant Door, or a combination of Protection From Flame and Immolation to attempt to isolate themselves from would-be assailants. "Couch Bards" are all but unheard of, given the combat-leaning nature of the class and the much-lesser degree of effective Enchantments to be given out. However, a 6th-level Bard bent on the task could certainly borrow some from Druids via Voice, and use Legend as a pseudo-protective measure by casting it initially on teammates--or just Commune.
