The Wandering Unicorns came into this existence March, 1983 C.E. At first we were only three brothers of the blade, fighting in common cause. Later, others began to find their home in our circle. Sir Nashomi the Lone Wolf (Sword/Crown/Flame)- Warlord - One of the greatest warriors in Amtgard History, especially in the 1980s, where a case could be made for him being the best fighter during that decade.

Sir Heimdale the Ha'valli (Sword/Crown/Flame}- Warlord - The second member of the Wandering Unicorns, his skill with a Sword and Flail was unsurpassed.He is noted for being the only Member of Amtgard to have won his crown twice by Right of Arms in a crown tournement.

Sir Deth the Direhearted (Sword/Flame)- Warlord - The third member of the Wandering Unicorns his skill with a sword was surpassed only by Sir Nashomi. He is most noted for having won the 1st Warlord Tournament utterly destroying all those on the field that day. As Amtgards second Warlord he helped to make the Unicorns the premiere fighting company of the day.

The Unicorns have a proud history.

We are the 4th company/household in Amtgard.

Of the first 6 Monarchies, 3 were Unicorns. (Heimdale 3rd,Nashomi 4th,Heimdale 6th ).

Of the first 4 Knights through combat skill (Sword) , 3 were Unicorns.

The second Warlord in Amtgard was Deth.

Amtgards first Prime Minister Nashomi, and first Grand Duke Heimdale were Unicorns.

Of the 4 responsible for creating the Burning Lands, two were Unicorns Nashomi and Heimdale.

Nashomi created the Wizard class and Heimdale created the Archer class.

We were present at Clan I.

Philosophy

In ancient times the four virtues of Misericordia, Justicia, Pax, Veritas (Mercy, Justice, Peace, Truth) were associated with the Unicorn. It was impervious to the efforts of man. Only purity and innocence were capable of calming and capturing it.

The qualities of the Unicorn are mystery, strength, and compassion. An elusive and noble being only glimpsed within the forest. Only with the purest of desire can a unicorn be approached, and once touched, its essence travels forever with you: You *have been transformed.
