History
Formed in 1990 when Dalmaggnon of the Golden Plains mailed a copy of the rules to Maccalus at his overseas military post. The group never signed a contract with Amtgard, Inc, and didn't stay in regular contact with anyone else in the game except for Dalmaggnon and Reinholt. Membership reached a peak of about six regular members in early 1991, but fluctuated almost constantly due to military transfers and deployments in the aftermath of Desert Storm. Because of this, the Vales never really attained a tight nucleus of core members and only had two regular members under the leadership of Dalron BoarSlayer in 1992 when Maccalus returned to the U.S.A.. This Shire either continues to function as a lost colony of Amtgard, or more likely, folded sometime later in 1992 when Dalron's tour of duty ended.
