The Symposium was founded by Winter's Edge artisans [[Fiddles]] and [[Valkyrie]]. With a class oriented event in mind, they submitted a bid in 2015 for Winter's Edge to host the event in February 2016. Bid accepted, they started planning the event a year in advance. Each event has a facebook event page and independent website listing classes and activities.

An annual event held in the Kingdom of Winter's Edge

Inspired by the idea of an event focused on classes and growing crafting culture, Winter's Edge artisans Fiddles and Valkyrie founded the Arts & Sciences Symposium event in 2016. Each event has a facebook event page and independent website listing classes and activities.

2016: Symposium I

  • This event was fairly small in size with ~55 attendees and held ~15 classes.
  • General classes included: Applique Basics, Book Wyrms: Fantasy Settings, Carving Foam & Plasti-Dipping, Crafting Dragon Eggs, How to cook like a peasant, Knitting 101, Loom Weaving 101, Macrame Belt Weaving,Painting Cloth Shield Covers, Printmaking Basics, Everything you want to know about plasti-dipping, Everything you want to know about sewing a tunic, How to make a leather belt-pouch, Making Mead lecture

2018: Symposium III

  • In order to accommodate the introduction of Kingdom-level tournaments, the event expanded to a 4-day event. Winter's Edge artisan, H.B. Puddin was knighted Saturday evening for order of the Serpent.

  • This event expanded to host Olympiad tournaments, an overarching Harry Potter event theme, battle games, fighting classes, house parties at night, and an evening dungeon quest. Winter's Edge artisan,Fiddles was knighted Saturday evening for order of the Serpent.
