Merfolk

The Merfolk have a thriving civilization beneath the waves. They are a race of humanoids with the lower bodies of scaled fish.

As a whole, Merfolk shun humanity and other species living below the ocean and will defend incursions into their realm with fierce determination.

Mermen are generally capricious, territorial and prone to displays of aggressive dominance. Mermaids, on the other hand, tend toward flirtatiousness, pretending to be coy and shy but more than able to launch an attack against an unsuspecting foe - or defend herself against the ravages of some wanton brute.
