Melinda started Amtgard in 2002 in Santa Barbara, California at a group formerly known as Feanga. The group soon after broke into a separate group called Silver Sun. Melinda played at that park until 2005 when it was disbanded. During that time, Melinda was proudly the group's champion for multiple terms. She then started playing at the current Santa Barbara group Eternal Coast, who she helped name. She soon became the champion for that group but only for one term.
