Mahkira was born in a land of darkness. A land no one knew of, except, maybe, one group who visited from across the waters. She came from the forest, deep in the dark forest. One day she wandered out of her forest home, and went to the shore to see the vast waters. Before her eyes, strange men, white, with yellow hair and light eyes came on strange canoes. They saw her and yelled for her. She ran. They caught her. They did unspeakable things to her. They took her back across the waters. She was with child. She swore vengeance. She was told her child died at birth. She escaped the village with a few other of the women slaves. She hunted down the father of her child and put him out of her misery. She had no desire to return to her land, because of her shame. She went through many kingdoms until she settled in to the Kingdom of the Rising Winds. She found peace in Satyr’s Crossing, but not for long.
