Biography
We are a fighting company formed in December of 2011, in the Barony of the Ivory Tower, under the Principality of Rivermoor. Our fighting company is dedicated to improvement, be it in martial prowess, armoring, garbing, or statesmanship. We are mercenaries, and willing to accept the best contract available. We are dedicated to having a good time, and improving the Ivory Tower. We emphasize improving on the aspects that we enjoy, and team-work. We feel that it's good to have a group of people to rely on, and that we fight well together, so it seemed like a natural choice to form a fighting company. We emphasize that members get armor, and try to generally improve the look of our park, as well as serve in court positions, reeve, and take new players under their wing. We of course, enjoy fighting, as well.
Ranks and Structure
- Our members are divided into regiments, per park, per order of precedence. Therefore, all members of the company that are in the Ivory Tower represent the first regiment, and any members that come from other parks will represent successive regiments. In each regiment are columns, which are led by sergeants. A column comprises a group of soldiers, who are an autonomous unit, led by the respective sergeants of each column. The lowest rank is that of prospect, which is reserved a s a petitioning status to the fighting company, and allows us to evaluate prospective members, as well as to allow prospective members to evaluate us. Members petition to the company for no smaller than a one month period, before they are brought forward by a sponsor, and evaluated before the company. If accepted, they are elevated to the rank of soldier, and then assigned to a column.
The order, in a bullet-format goes as thus:
- Captain - The leader of the company, represented by four chevrons in white on the lower right quadrant of the garb, and a personal device on the upper right quadrant.
- Lieutenant - The second-in-command, represented by three chevrons in white on the lower right quadrant of the garb, and a personal device on the upper right quadrant.
- Sergeant - Commanders of individual columns, represented by two chevrons in white on the lower right quadrant of the garb, and a personal device on the upper right quadrant.
- Soldier - Rank-and-file soldiers of columns, represented by one chevron in white on the lower right quadrant of the garb, and the personal device of their respective sergeant on the upper right quadrant.
- Prospect - A petitioner status, this person does not wear chevrons, or the device of a sergeant, but may wear the device of the company, and the number of the regiment.
Garb and Colors
Our colors are dark green and white, and each member of the company has a surcoat with four quadrants, green to the top left, and bottom right, white to the top right, and bottom left. On the top right quadrant, the company heraldry is worn, on the top left quadrant, the regiment number is worn, on the bottom left, the chevrons that represent rank are worn, and on the bottom right The device of the commanding officer is worn. (The Captain and Lieutenant wear their own devices.)
