History

Iron Hold started out as a Freehold Shire in February of 2010, and soon joined the Kingdom of the Desert Winds. They used to meet on Tuesdays with a Friday fighter practice, but with dwindiling numbers, they decided to change to a Saturday Morning affair. They now meet from 10-12 (or sometimes later). Iron Hold used to meet in Orem, but soon discovered a superior park in Provo, Kiwanis Park (Approximately 950 N, 1100 East)

In the Spring of 2012, Daenen and Alicia transferred from River's End down to Iron Hold. They brought with them many years of experience, but it seemed almost too late. They tried to recruit others, and soon many of their friends from River's End transferred to the smaller shire to help grow their numbers. For over a year, they tried to keep the park going with a small group of people.

In the Summer of 2013, Riin Cari joined the park. He brought with him a new enthusiasm for the game of Amtgard, and a small unaffiliated fighter practice down in the neighboring town of Springville on Tuesday Nights. The members of Iron Hold drove down to Springville and the young players loved the idea of Amtgard. Iron Hold's numbers swelled, and in August of 2013 they were raised to a Barony.

Unfortunately, the park in Springville, though fantastic for recruiting due to the large number of teenagers who walk by the park every day, only works during the warmer summer months. The park has poor lighting and by November, with the coming of Daylight Savings, it is dark by 6:00. The focus for Winter 2013-14 has been on garbing the masses and training them to improve their fighting, both in tournaments and on the field.

Having since that time being demoted to Shire and later again raised to Barony & Core province within the Desert winds,the Iron Hold has since relocated again to it's original park in Orem and is thriving well. Hoping to soon become a Duchy within the Kingdom
