Biography
Etah known to the rest of the world as Paul; was a Field Supervisor for Monument Security in Sacramento California in 2009. Filling in for a guard at the KOVR TV station (where you watch the show as it broadcasts) there was a segment on the local Amtgard Park, Thor’s Refuge. Having been looking for a foam LARPing group for his wife since they watched Role models together, he jumped at the chance. Turns out his wife wasn’t interested at all, but he’s been hooked every since. His Amtgard goals are to never miss a good chance to flurb it up and to ditch as much as he possibly can.
Flurby Bio
Off in the distant northern corner of the world there existed an Island paradise called Ultima Thyilea. This awe inspiring Island had a Navy like Athens, an Army like Sparta, a culture that rivaled Egypt, the thought and science of Rome, the beauty of Babylon and overflowing coffers that could rival any of the ancient Empires, perhaps even several of them. The sun shined down on the Island all year long, which was kept temperate by the cool breeze of the surrounding sea, and the grass and trees were green all year long as well.
It was said that on Ultima Thyilea; peasants lived like nobles, the nobles each lived like Kings and the Grand Jarl lived like a god. There was no poverty, disease and illness were a distant memory and the human lifespan had been expanded beyond a century through both magic and medicine. The Ome family had been the hereditary rulers of the Island since time immemorial and they thought the people of the land to be happy. But behind the scenes trouble was brewing.
There were some amongst populace that wondered why Ultima Thyilea did not send forth its fleets and brigades to bring the rest of the world paradise. Paradise that Ultima Thyilea was selfishly keeping to itself. There were a great number of these among the Army and the Navy and among the Elders Council which functioned as a legislature. The Ome family contended that no one on the Island wanted for anything, so they had no reason to deprive others and that the rest of the world wouldn't accept Thyilea's wisdom.
In the end, Herald, Chief of the powerful Hakon family and Drottinn of the Navy, conspired with a man named Magnus who was both court Sorcerer and Head of the Elder Council. The two men decided that their views and the decisions made by the Ome Family were irreconcilable and action must be taken. They combined their incredible influence and set events in motion that would affect the rest of Etah’s life.
Grand Jarl Ome Htaol was slain in his sleep by assassins who slipped into the Palace. His oldest son, Ome Esipsed, who was the crowned heir and Army Hersir, was slain in his own camp by his own men. Etah, the youngest son who wasn’t yet five years of age, was spirited away by an old family friend. Thorstein, was also a distinguished member of the Elder Council and he took the boy to the Chambers of the Council.
The Council convened without Magnus present. They heard testimony and then proclaimed in a divided vote, that Herald was a traitor and thus not eligible to claim the Throne. The majority of the Elders had sided with Herald on the expansion issue but vehemently disagreed with his methods and thus proclaimed the child Etah to be Ome Etah I, ruler of the Domain of Ultima Thyilea.
Moments later those Elders who disagreed with the majority vote of the Council opened the doors to Herald, Magus and their conspirators. The young Etah watched as the elders were slain one by one. The young man ran and launched himself out of the tall tower and was considered dead as he plunged into the depths below. However the Ome Family was the chosen of Njord, Norse God of Water and Patron Deity of Ultima Thyilea. Thus he survived.
Two decades later Ome Etah I, rightful ruler of the Domain of Ultima Thyilea resides in Thor’s Refuge in Westmarch on the continent of Amtgardia. He spent fifteen years as a lowly Surf on a noble lords land. Now free he seeks to become a great and powerful warrior. Etah dreams of one day raising an Army, reclaiming his birthright and victoriously returning to the paradise he knew as a child.
Monster Bio: A Skeleton Known Only As Hate
The oldest son of Grand Jarl Ome Htaol, Hersir Ome Esipsed was the Crowned Heir of Ultima Thyilea and Commander of the Islands Army. He loved his life and wanted for nothing. Esipsed dreamed of the bright future he could bring his Island home and of his statue that would reside in the hall of heroes to be seen for all time. He dreamed of all these things until the night a group of his subordinate commanders stabbed him in the back, right before they executed his wife, all three of his concubines and all six of his children.
Esipsed watched his family meet their fates through his dying eyes, and these sights irrevocably twisted his immortal soul. As he, his wives and his children lie slain on the floor a group of loyal subordinates secured their bodies. After rescuing the corpses they gave them a traditional burial below the waves. As his empty shell splashed into the sea, his soul reentered his body, unable to move on in this world due to Esipsed’s seething anger. His eyes opened, his bones clacked.
Time ceased being important to Esipsed. Days started and ended as his corps crashed through the waves. As the days passed, so did his skin and organs. He could still think but his thoughts were dominated by murder. After washing ashore, he stepped from the water that had clothed him for an unknown span of time. He found weapons and started to slay, who it was did not matter. As time moved on he remembers less and less of his former life. His motivations fade as he becomes a mindless skeleton, an unliving testament of hate.
