History

Centerpoint is a chapter currently in it's early infancy as a group, being only a few months old. We are the first group in known Amtgardia to exist in Kansas. Our brief history is as follows

Summer 2006: Dane Pisces, VERY formerly of Rogue's Haven, digs "beatstick" out of his closet while moving. This inspires him to make a handful more weapons and to start beating on his friends with them. Inevitably, said friends make weapons of their own and begin to fight back. This is the beginning of our shire, 6 months spent beating one another with half-finished weapons.

March 2007: Veneficus Tenebrus, fed up with the lack of vision possessed by Dune, declares himself Sheriff of Kansas City. He then gathered together a band of his most loyal followers and created Centerpoint.

June 2007: After several months of off-putting, Centerpoint gets it's act together and signs a contract, notarizes it, and sends it to the burning lands, we still haven't heard back. Meanwhile, the shire itself grows weekly due to the outstanding recruitment effort put forth by Antaracles and Veneficus Tenebrus.

July 2007: First ever Centerpoint Althing, Event, and Midreign. At our Althing we decided to allow the Duelist Class(a concession to Dune), and created a committee to come up with a proposal for Classical Amtgard. On July 4th we held an event for the park themed around fireworks and generally blowing things up. Especially demons. Our "midreign" is scheduled for July 27th.

August 2007: Continued growth of shire, attendance reaches 20.

Directions

From East

Take I-435 to 69Highway South, Exit onto College Boulevard East. Cross under the highway, turn left onto Marty. Follow Marty until it runs into Indian Creek Parkway, turn left onto Indian Creek Parkway. Continue on until you see a small shelter, This is the park.

From West

Take I-435 to Exit 80(Antioch), turn left across the bridge. Make an immediate right turn onto Indian Creek Parkway(there is a huge sign labeled Corporate Woods, you can't miss it). Follow the road until you see a small shelter on your right, this is the park
