The Houses and Companies of Kaembryge
Households of Kaembryge
- The Borderlands Alumni – A fraternal organization for the survivors of the devastation of Borderlands Keep. Its membership consists of Sylvanista, Gekko, Kyrryn, and Terarin.
- The Amazons – Led by Dame Andralaine and Dame Weilok as the High Mothers, their device is a rainbow ending in daggers. They are the premier all-female house in Amtgard.
- House Lioness – Led by Sir Moogie as Equitissa, their device is a white lion on a burgundy shield. House Lioness is a Household dedicated to promoting female fighting in Amtgard.
- House Thug – Founded by Lord Enforcer Kyrryn Stonewall, their device is a single spiked brass knuckle on a black background. House Thug seems to be a ‘black hand’ organization of some larger power, though to date I have not fully understood their role and backing. What I do know is that House Thug longships patrol the riverways, House Thug ‘checkstations’ are located on every road into or out of the province, and most taverns and inns in the city belong to House Thug.
- House Rolling Thunder – The Federated Clans of House Rolling Thunder are dedicated to preserving the arts and sciences while also maintaining astounding drum performances in realms near and far. Their device is a lightning wheel openly displayed.
- House of Wu Shinn – Often have I heard the name of House Wu Shinn, and when I do it is as if those who speak it look around for fear they have been overheard. Who belongs to this House, is a mystery, but what is known is that their mark is a stylized swan, and death follows in its wake.
- Order of AVO – Started by Khazmylar Hotaru, AVO is/was a lesser house founded to serve the society of Kaembryge and the Kingdom at large. To date they have assisted with a feast but have in recent years been silent.
Noble Houses
- House Farquestor – Sir Katzu, Lord. The belted line of Baron Sir Katzu the Farquestor, our words are “For Liege and Lady.” Established from the remnants of House Onishi, the Farquestor line exists to promote chivalric virtue, promote the society’s more traditional roots, and to serve the society and kingdom with honor.
- House Darkblade – Sir Gekko, Lord. The family of Lord Sir Nella “Gekko” Darkblade. They exist to promote excellence in all aspects of the society.
Companies of Kaembryge
- The Golden Lions – Sir Amorden, Captain. Their device is a golden lion’s head on a black field, with the eye color differing by each Lion. Currently the second-oldest active fighting company, and has been considered one of the premier fighting companies in all of Amtgard. Represented by numerous citizens of the province.
- The Dark Riders – The Horsemen are the Lords of the Dark Riders, their device being a red skull surrounded by a silver horseshoe on a black field. There is little known of this extremely tight-knit mercenary company, due mainly to the cryptically spoken of “Thirteen.” What is known is that they fight, they slay their enemies, and they do not back down.
