Biography

On a dark and gloomy day in February, 1998, a thought became a dream, and that dream became the reality that is Dragon Spyre. Amidst those dreams, a thought arose; an idea for a fighting company like no other. A fighting company that combined fierce combat tactics with even more ferocious humor. A fighting company that could laugh at itself as others died laughing at their hands. A company of friends, jokesters and punsters; drawn together by the concept of “the Strange”, “The Weird, even “The Bizarre”. They were to become the ultimate team of “THEM”, the bad guys. The thought germinated and became an idea, the idea grew to be a reality embodied in The Company of Strangers.

What the F*ck?

While The Company of Strangers has few requirements, one of which are the ability to never take ourselves or the game too seriously, we are primarily a service-based company and a family, once you become a Stranger, you are always a Stranger (unless you, yourself, wish to cut your ties with us). We require that potential members enter under a probationary status, of which there is no specific time requirement. This allows existing Strangers time to get to know potential members and to decide whether they are a good fit. When the Company decides enough time has passed, a vote will be called for among current members (the vote must be unanimous) and potential Strangers will be informed of the outcome.

Rules

1. Obey the Rules of Play (RoP)
2. Follow the Code of Conduct (CoC)
3. There will be no specific shaming; be it gender, religious, sexual, or otherwise. Yes, we engage in playful banter, we always have & always will. The point that it becomes shaming, it should cease immediately. No member of The Company of Strangers should feel ashamed of who they are and choose to be.

So, You Wanna Be a Stranger...

We have very few rules. First, you must petition the Company Captain or Lieutenant, informing him that you are interested in becoming a member. If we are accepting new members, the Strangers will vote on your acceptance. If accepted, you will be asked to serve a probationary term, to let the rest of the company get to know you, before the final vote. The one definite quality you must demonstrate is a sense of humor.

Tips for Probies

1. Be yourself.
2. Don't prospect other companies without asking
3. If we are engaged in a service project (cooking a meal at an event, hosting a tourney, helping with cleanup etc.) and you are in attendence, participate, even if you're standing there, looking stupid until someone tells you what to do.
4. Follow the RoP & CoC.
