January 2024 (9A.5.240112) - Monster Update (UPDATE IN PROGRESS 🚧)
LEGEND
🔴 = Important and Significant changes.
🟡 = Functional-but-minor changes.
🟢 = Changes that alter text with no functional impact on the rules.
- 🟢 Typos, grammar, and bug fixes.
- 🔴 Monster section, including general rules and 12 monster profiles, has been added to the rulebook.
- 🔴 Planar Binding has been reworked and renamed into Tracking. Scouts rejoice!
- 🔴 Rescue has been too slow to be useful so it now has a shiny, new, single-line incantation!
CLASS-SPECIFIC UPDATES
We didn't want to implement too much for other classes in the wake of the Monster update but there are a few changes that we felt were necessary to push now. Additional balance adjustments as well as the caster sustain/quality-of-life changes will be coming in the next major update.
- 🔴 HEALER
- Banish frequency and rest time has been updated to be in line with other classes.
- 1/Refresh ♻20 → 1/Life ♻10

- 🔴 WARRIOR
- Some of Warrior's rest timers were not matching the rest of the game and Reforge in particular was becoming oppressive.
- Warrior Taunt: ♻20 → ♻10
- Warrior Reforge: ♻10 → ♻20

- 🔴 WIZARD
- Spell list has been updated. In light of the changes to Planar Binding, it has been replaced with Banish on the wizard spell list.
- 🔴 Curio of Shadows (Black) has been more impactful than intended and is being altered to try to bring it's power level back in line with the others.
- Bearer may use Shadow Step 2/Refresh → Bearer may use Pass Without Trace 2/Refresh.
