From The Stick Jock's Dictionary - An apology in which the offending individual admits no culpability what so ever, but instead blames the situation on the “defective” nature of the item in question. Originally pioneered by Drakknar, Asylus was also noted for making frequent use of the Torch method of apology. An example would be something along the lines of “I am sorry your (face/item/girlfriend) was defective. “
This later became standardized with a purposefully ambiguous adjective inserted into the statement while the appologetic tone was removed ; e.g. "You should have known said item would have broken at said time." or "You should have known your insert item, would have broken fighting the Night Train."
Examples:
- "...You should expect a few broken ribs if you ditch at night."
