Madus
A Madu is a shield - weapon combination. Any shield with weapons permanently affixed to it will be considered a Madu and must conform to these rules.
- The weapon portion must be easily recognizable as a weapon, and the shield portion must be easily recognizable as a shield. The division between weapon and shield portions should not be ambiguous.
- Maximum Total Length of 108” (9ft)
- The Shield portion must meet the size requirements for at least a Buckler.
- Weapon portions must meet the following requirements:
- Cannot extend out from the face of the shield.
- Cannot be a Flail, Great, Javelin, or another madu.
- Portions intended to be Stab-Only must be at least 6” long.
- Portions intended to stab and slash must be at least 12” long.
- Portions 18” or less must be entirely Strike-Legal. Portions greater than 18” in length must have at least 18” of Strike-Legal Padding. This can be reduced as normal with Heavy Padding, Super Heavy Padding, or Stab-Only options.
- All Non-Striking Surfaces must have Incidental Padding.
