Shire-squires

  • What is a shire-squire?

All current and active members of Nocturnis are considered to be shire-squires regardless of rank, title or years of experience.

  • How did a shire get squired?

The knight-squire relationship varies between individuals but in general consists of the knight finding opportunities for the squire to become involved in Amtgard. In other words, the knight makes the squire do lots of work. After Sylvanista was knighted, several people inquired when and who she would squire. Her response was "given how much I make the members of Nocturnis work, I should just squire the park". Thus shire-squires were created.

  • Can someone be a shire-squire even if he or she no longer claims Nocturnis?

Some former members of Nocturnis may wish to continue being shire-squires. This honor will be extended to former members that actively supported the various projects Sylvanista threw at the park while they were still members.

  • What rights do shire-squires have?

Shire-squires may wear a red belt and may display the shire-squire symbol of a white rook with a red belt. Shire-squires should expect to be volunteered for just about anything Sylvanista is involved with or interested in.
