The Spartans of the Rhye focus on phalanx work and military tactics. To join all you have to do is ask, and you will be given a difficult test to prove yourself worthy of calling yourself a Spartan. We are very rank-based and follow a strict chain of command.

Ranks of the Spartans

The Spartans are very rank-based. Each rank has a corresponding greek name. The ranks are as follows.

- Strategos (Company Commanding Officer (CO))

- Polemarch (Company Executive Officer (XO))

- Enomotarch (Company Officer)

- Hyperetes (Company Sergeant)

- Tetrarch (Full Company Member)

- Ephebe (Petitioning Company Member)

Promotions

To get promoted within the SotR you have to work hard, and prove yourself to the Officers. When a position opens up you will be considered for it. To become a full member you must petition the company for three to six months and attend the Hoplite Academy or Agoge to receive your hoplite certification. If you are unable to attend a Hoplite Academy or Agoge, you may have months added to your period of petitioning in order to make up for it.
