Depending on Reeve decisions, some lands allow Presence to be activated at any time during a life, while others require the casting Bard to use it at the beginning of each life in which it is active. Check with local Reeves to see which variation your park observes. This uncertainty often results from the fact that Presence is a neutral magic, yet bought in per life units.

It is often considered to be implied by the wording of Presence that using it after having attacked an affected class without the magic active results in such players still not being immune to Presence unless attacked again while Presence is active. Again, this can vary by park, as it is not entirely clear in the rulebook wording.

One of the Bardic spells.

Spell Type

Neutral, self-targeting, Bard Lvl. 1

Materials

When used, the caster must tie a blue ribbon upon an arm.

Effects

Due to respect and awe for the position, all barbarians will not attack the caster during a life in which Presence is used. Also, due to professional respect, druids and monks of lower level than the caster will not attack the caster.

Limitations

If the caster attacks or casts magic at a barbarian, monk, or druid who is affected by Presence that person may ignore the affects[sic] of the caster's Presence for the rest of the game.

Notes

Players that are Berserk ignore Presence.

Commentary

Depending on Reeve decisions, some lands allow Presence to be activated at any time during a life, while others require the casting Bard to use it at the beginning of each life in which it is active. Check with local Reeves to see which variation your park observes. This uncertainty often results from the fact that Presence is a neutral magic, yet bought in per life units.

It is often considered to be implied by the wording of Presence that using it after having attacked an affected class without the magic active results in such players still not being immune to Presence unless attacked again while Presence is active. Again, this can vary by park, as it is not entirely clear in the rulebook wording.
