n. An event occurring halfway through a reign.

Traditionally celebrated with a feast and court. In larger groups and at the Kingdom level it usually means, a weekend-long camping event. Midreigns are held every 6 months. The proper dates for the event are often described in your kingdom Corpora. Prime Minsters are usually elected at the Midreign, thereby overlapping the term of the monarch.

The Basic Schedule

At a coronation you can expect a few things to happen, most are not mandatory, but are common enough to list here. You will see at least one major battle game that is probably tied to the the changing of the office. A tourney; A&S and Warskills. At least one meal, in the form of a feast held before or during court. Court, where the Monarch goes on, at great length weather you want them too or not and gives out awards. The after party; where people hang out, laugh and or moan about the day's events.

When the keys come off

When it comes time to say farewell to the old and welcome the new each locality has it's own traditions. If you are concerned with following them ask your Old Guard about them. If not, then work out some interesting role play or otherwise with your counterparts.

It is the duty of the Monarch to dismiss the former Prime Minister and to thank them for their service. It is also their duty to call up and anoint the new Prime Minister.

How do you do it?

To run a coronation you first submit a Bid to the Current Monarchy. You should have; a Theme, a site, a cost estimate, a basic schedule, a flyer work up, and a devoted staff. You'll need to do all of this at least three months ahead of time. If you get the bid, you'll need to start advertising to all local and nearby groups. Poke them once every few weeks, asking about gate help, feast help, or tourney volunteers. Your lists of need people will fill up and you'll keep the event fresh in their minds.

The start day of the event should dawn on a site already checked for problem areas. You should go over it to make sure the bathrooms work, there are no major ankle breaking obstacles, the kitchen or food prep area is online, ect.
