Black Hand (Company)

History and Agenda between 2002 and 2010

The Black Hand is a House located primarily in the Pacific Northwest. Our primary goals are the promotion of Boffer related sporting in the Northwest, and the spread of midieval and renaisaince re-creation culture throughout the clubs who participate in similar activities.

The Black Hand was founded in August of 2002 by Lord Blapticus Le Terni' of Mystic seas. The original membership consisting of Blapticus (then MA to Sir Lucifer Bolt Ten Dragons),Squire Nanzo(also to Lucifer) and M@A Filthy (again servant to Lucifer). Since then Squire Nanzo has left the Black Hand to persue the posibility of following his knight into service with Annihalus Company. Filthy has not been sighted in 6 years.

The Black Hand first apeared in strong numbers at PAC WAR 5. There were 16 members in atendance and our colours were white wool with purple and green trim, oficers wore purple with black and white trim. Company colours changed again a year later (2004) to Blue with Black trim and silver or grey accents. This colour scheme is still in use today.

Since 2002 the Black Hand has undergone many changes. The most profound was changing from a Amtgard fighting company to a "free held house". What this means to the Blackhand is often confusing to outsiders, but basicaly can be summed up in three words... "NO OUTSIDE INFLUENCE". Today the Black Hand by compulsive ruling registers its credits with the Amtgard Holding of Mystic Seas, where we started (though our relations with our home land have often been rocky, once leading to the Black Hand joining the Kingdom of VSR.) Officially though the Black Hand views itself as a free group almost a holding unto itself. We run a tuesday night fighting practice in SW portland (founded in 2006) which is sanctioned by the holder of MS and offers Amtgard credits to its participants. The Black Hand was awarded the Order of the Flame by King Moonshine of Blackspire in 2006, and again by King Shortround in 2010.

Since 2005 the Black Hand has built itself a reputation for roleplaying Pirates and Highway bandits at various clubs around the NW including Amtgard, The SCA, Belegarth and various loosly organized "pirate eventing clubs".Membership is by invite only, none may simply petition. To find out more, or to expose yourself to the cold gaze of our officers show up for tuesdaynight fights.

The agenda of 2012!

In the Summer months of the year 2012, the prodigal son Bambie returned to the fold, bringing with him Pharmboi. Bambie was a hero unto his own kin, and fought many battles for the good name of his brothers. He brought down pirates and warriors in the Name of his love Faline. Having joined the ranks in 2009, Bambie has risen through the ranks of Our illustrious household within a scant 9-12 month period of activity. Glory be the Captain Bambie, who now wheres the hat and leads our men to Battle. And beside him sits Dalamar the wise and the oft impetuous Blapticus Le Ternie, making the trine of leadershp. All are known for their strength and courage in battle and politics, and have never seen a beer gone wanting. Thus came the storm as new blood flooded in. Late of October saw a man returned from the mists, come to change the face of the hand, and with him came the strong arms of many new souls. Draugr Wraith Bred change in the company, and his ideas wrought strong bonds. Forged together by bonds of brotherhood, the triumverant opened the company to the pursuit of knighthood as was the wish of Leto Theodaupolis. Draugr Wraith then called for “Casual Mondays, a day of folly and frivality at either his Abyss or Bambie's Spawning point. Casual Mondays are for The Hand to bond and relax and for the recruitment of new souls into the dark folds of The Hand. With This New base of stability, Bambie fights to bring structure and balance to the hand and bares it's name ever onward through the halls of Amtgardia.
